The AT-VMN50xSH is a 2.7 × 0.26 mil Shibata nude replacement stylus with a solid boron cantilever, compatible with the AT-VM750xSH and VM750SH cartridges. Originally developed for four-channel quadraphonic vinyl records, the Shibata profile features two radii that allow for greater surface contact and more effective pick-up of ultra-high frequencies with reduced groove stress and distortion compared to an elliptical stylus. The solid boron cantilever is naturally lightweight and rigid, transmitting signals from the record groove faster than an aluminium cantilever, resulting in more accurate sound reproduction that is particularly noticeable on dynamic musical passages. As with all AT-VMx and VM Series cartridges, the shared body design means the stylus is also compatible with almost any other VMx or VM Series cartridge body (excluding mono models).
