The CYP SY-XTREAM is an HDMI to USB video capture recorder with HDMI bypass, supporting resolutions up to 4K UHD+ (18Gbps) with HDR via the bypass pathway, while simultaneously streaming audio and video at up to 1080p to a USB-connected PC for capture or re-broadcast. HDMI sources up to 1080p@60Hz are captured without scaling, while 4K sources are automatically scaled down to 1080p for USB capture.

A special video timing stabilisation feature helps ensure the USB capture stream does not lock up or drop, even if the HDMI input source is intermittent or disconnected. Digital stereo audio from either the HDMI input (LPCM 2.0) or the 3.5mm analogue audio input can be captured alongside the video, selectable within the configuration software. USB capture uses the UAC (USB Audio Class) and UVC (USB Video Class) standards, providing compatibility with most common capture and streaming software including OBS, available for Windows, macOS, and Linux. The unit is powered directly via the USB 3.0 port, requiring no external power supply (a Y-cable is required when connecting via USB 2.0).
